This is a short story from our scripture, which makes so perfect sense for everyone. Specially politicians, leaders, HRs etc.
Long time back, in Tretayuga there was a might King Dasarath. His son was Ram, the prince. During those days, there was age restriction to remain in a throne. It was only after the demise of King would the prince be made a new King.
However, one day out of nowhere, King said to his minister that he wants to quit the throne and make Ram a king. So he asked minister to gather people for the official announcement of the same.
Minister was shocked but he could not deny the king. So he gathers people from all over the Nation in just a few days.
The official program began and King Dasarath declared that he is resigning and now Prince Ram will be the new King.
Everyone started clapping. This gave a huge shock to King Dasarath. He asked his minister, “I said I will resign but these people are happy and clapping. What is it? ”
To this minister replied “ Sarkar, they are not happy because you are resigning. Rather they are happy because they are going to be now ruled by Ram”
“How does it matter? How is Ram better than me?” asked King Dasarath to his minister.
Minister replied “Smita purwa bhaasi”. This led King Dasarath to huge wonder and shock.
Minister said, prince Ram would always communicate with everyone from top to down with a smile. He would start the communication. He stretched his hands first. He never waited for someone else to start a communication. He never said, “let this person come and talk to me first”. He was “smita purwa bhaasi”
Note: Smita = Smile, Purwa (Before, First), Bhaasi (Communicate)
